Here is the formula:
- Wake up early enough to have 1 full hour of focus to yourself. That does NOT include the time it takes to wash your face and get a coffee.
- Spend the first 20 mins of this hour doing exercise that is rigorous enough to get you to sweat just a little. Some calisthenics, light jog – whatever. Science shows this lowers cortisol (stress hormone) and increases dopamine (pleasure hormone) – which will PAVE THE WAY for the next two steps to be uninhibited. Not to mention… this is good for you.
- Spend the next 20 mins journaling, visualizing, and expressing gratitude. These 3 things are SO important to recalibrate your mindset. Journaling lets you work out your stress, negative thoughts and emotional pains, and gives you the space to be vulnerable and begin to deal with them. We all need to be able to vent and get our mental poison out of our heads. Visualization allows us to envision our best selves and our best lives – providing inspiration for the day. Finally, gratitude keeps us focused on the good. Here I like to send a message to someone I appreciate and tell them why.
- The last 20 mins is focused on your business. Get your planner out and write down your goals (every day), organize your to do’s and tasks, starting with the MOST important part (lead gen), and make sure you give yourself a full day’s work plotted in a day timer with items that are geared towards moving your business forward.
This is just ONE hour of your day, and will guarantee you have a good, clean slate to work with, and are focused on what matters.
Do this AT LEAST 5 days a week – if not 7.
